Toni's Story
Life
Well, in 10 years, a lot has happened. I went to college at SHSU, and got a B.S. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. While in school, I met my husband, Paul. We've been happily married for 6 years, and have 3 beautiful daughters. He's presently a correctional officer, and I'm a mom. I have had several jobs, including correctional officer, shoe salesman, and kennel worker. Life is good, my inlaws are great, and I still keep in touch with a few people from school.
While in college, my parents got divorced. My mom remarried and dad moved to North Carolina to take care of his ailing parents. Everyone is doing fin...Expand for more

Military
Yup, I joined the Navy. The academy never worked out, so I enlisted while in college. I quit school and went in 28 Apr 1997. But, wouldn't you know it, I blew out my knee about a month in. It was a freak thing, and happened while doing jumping jacks (the knee bends front to back, not side to side). I fought to get it fixed so I could stay in, but the military doctors prevailed and got me kicked out. I have since had surgery, and have never felt better. I have been prevented from re-enlisting due to the injury, even though the surgery has been performed, due to the fact that knee injuries are notorious for reoccuring.
