Tonja's Story
Life
Wow, there are so many things to say! I have two beautiful boys (ages 12 and 7). They keep me very busy. Most people know that I served 5 years in the Air Force (and never left Keesler AFB). I received my BSBA (accounting w/honors) form the University of Southern Mississippi. I am living on the coast in Gulfport, MS. I am the internal auditor for the VA Hospital in Biloxi, MS. Don't let the word auditor fool you. I haven't changed much. I know it's hard to picture!!!! Well, I am used to living close to the ocean now (believe it or not most of the hurricanes dont bother me.) However, Katrina was tough and made me miss west texas for a second......I got over it.The coast was devastated but the people of south mississippi are strong and we are still rebuilding almost 4 years later. If you have never been here it is a wonderful place. New Orleans is great and there is nothing like cajun food and mardi gras. Otherwise, I met the man of my dreams and am very...Expand for more
happy (even if I still have no trim on the baseboards...thanks katrina) !
Military
What can I say about the Air Force......I had some of the best times and toughest times of my life in uniform. From California to Biloxi, I met some amazing people (Analisa, Drew, Katy, David, Amn Shaw(my partner in crime... at the time I didn't realize that stuff could have gotten me into alot of trouble. Remember Christmas break????), Dante Jones (always there for everything. Forever the 1 that got away), Msgt. Lionberger, Ssgt. Ansinger, Capt Fulcher, Dr. Chinea (who used to always tell me not to worry about hurricanes. Dang, I miss that Puerto Rican eggnog), Dr. Lievens,my best friend to this day Angela Dohm, Harry Orr who could always get mom on base and gave me hell in tech school. Wow, the military taught me how to be a strong woman and laid my foundation. I will forever be grateful I wore a uniform. I will forever support the soldier even when I dont support the war!
