Tawnee's Story
Life
I live in Chattanooga, TN. with my husband, Bob, a commercial banker and my black cat, Starlette, a rescue who sits on my chair, glad to be out of the elements. My daughter Bree Kirby, graduated in May 2008, from Middle TN State University and works in marketing in Nashville. As a profession, I recently started a greeting card company, "Essence in a Bucket." This came about as a result of being diagnosed with cancer in 2007. I made a thank you card that was purchased by an independent bookstore - and the business was born. s, writing the sentiments and then composing the greeting card. They are currently carried in galleries, gift shops, bookstores and hospitals in the Southeast.
MARCH 2008: I've been notified that I'm one of three finalist for a LOUIE AWARD, the greeting card industry's equivalent of the entertainment industry's Oscars in the "Romance," category.
JUNE 2008: I didn't win, but it was a great experience, seeing my card displayed in the exhibit hall of the Jacob Javits Center, with the other finalists and attending the awards ceremony.
