Tonya's Story
Life
I have a had a wonderful life so far. My husband Danny, still makes me tingle after 29 years, and I have two beautiful boys, Chris 28, and Jamie 23. We own our own company, a small asbestos abatement company. Lots of ups and downs, but that's what makes it living!!!My husband and I like to travel and ride motorcycles!! Harley Davidson of course! Yes I am married to a biker, or scooter tramp as he likes to call himself, I love the pony tail!! My son Chris got married the 5th of August 2005 in Maui, Hawaii, to my wonderful new daughter, the former Katherine Anderson. It was a beautiful wedding on the beach at sunset,the bride was breathtaking, and of course, a wonderful excuse to hang around on the Island for a week, which we did. Was a great vacation. Took a tour of Maui in a Helicopter, a first for me, our pilot was called Captain Coconut, which was a little worrisome at first, but he was fun. Chris and Katharine are school teachers and both are wonderful.
Our son Jamie, has just graduated from Fire Fighter academy, and is going to Colorado to do his wild land certification. We are very proud of both our boys. They are wonderful young men.
We always look forward to our trips to Durango Colorado, one of the best places to ride a motorcycle, and see the sights. It is beautiful there. We have also become really active in a Motorcycle Ministry called the Fellowship riders. It has been an awesome experience. We rode 1712 miles round trip to Angola Prison Louisiana to be a part of a Franklin Graham crusade.
I am one of the official photographers for the group, I can take some pretty good pics from the back of a motorcycle going 80 miles an hour!!HA

We do the Angel Tree every year, where we actually go and deliver gifts to kids whose parent or parents are in prison. We also go to prisons about 32 times a year, to do prison ministry. Pretty awesome experience.
These guys have truly been a blessing to us.
School
I didn't graduate, too busy being married!! I later got my GED and went on to South Plains College, where I received a certificate in computers. I graduated with a 3.93 gpa. I have always regretted that I had not finished high school, but hey, better late than never!!!!
College
I went back to school when I was almost 30 years old, and was so glad that I did. I learned so much and developed confidence that I never thought I would have. It was a wonderful accomplishment and it did wonderful things for my family!!
Workplace
I worked for a Dermotology Clinic as a billing clerk, and then went to work for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, here in the Lubbock Marketing office. I started as a receptionist and then became a Sales and Service Rep. (The Corporate Title). I had a wonderful boss who allowed me all the room I wanted to grow and learn. Before I resigned I was the Budget watchdog for the West Texas Area, which included Lubbock,Abilene, El Paso, Amarillo, Midland,& San Angelo. It was a wonderful experience, I was trully blessed with wonderful coworkers, and inspiring Bosses, Which were both WOMEN!! They taught me so much, and most of all gave me an extended family, which I love. I left BCBSTX when my husband bought the company I am now president of. WEST TX ABATEMENT. We remove asbestos and lead from buildings, and we also do controlled demolition. My husband Danny is very good at what he does, and WTA is doing wonderfully!!!
