Tracy's Story
Life
My Pets
I have a lab/malamute mix (Bear, 11 years), my cat is a short hair Chartrex (White Patch, 10 years) weighing in at a whapping 18 lb. and a Yellow/White Lab/Golden Ret. Mix (Luna, 7 years). I have done animal rescue in the past couple of years. I have had a pitbull mix puppy, and a siberian husky puppy. Both went to good homes.
My Kids
These two children are not my biological children, but they are my god children. They are a great couple of kids. The boy is 11 and the girl is 16. They are fast learners, respectable, polite, loving, caring, and have a great bond with one another.
My Job
I currently work for the State of Oregon for the Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division(DCFS in IL.). I have been here since December 2003. It is a very challenging job. I have worked in the permanency unit. This is the unit that deals with children that have been removed from thier parent's homes and placed in foster care. I then work with the families and the children in hopes of placing the children back at home with the mother and/or the father. If they are unable to r...Expand for more
eturn to their mother or father due to the parent(s) own neglect and refusal to comply with services then the agency goes forth with termination of parental rights and the children then are placed up for adoption. It is a very challenging job. I have taken a differnet position in the same office where I am the caseworker for the Addictions Recovery Team. I work with the parents who have drug and alcohol issues. I help get them set up with services and get into recovery. I am also a team member of the Polk County Drug Court Team. I love my new job.
I am not sure if this is where I want to be settled into. My hope is to get into the Oregon Youth Authority as a juvenile probation/parole officer. It will only happen when the time is right and I am a patient person.
School
Biggest crush. WOW!!! I plea the fifth. If you know me you know who that was and they continue to hold that special place in my heart. I would love to repeat high school again. This is where I met so many people that ended up being my family. I love them all so much. They have always been my rock during my hard times.
