Tracy's Story
Life
Update in 2011... Life remains a Great Blessing every day!
I thank God for the good times and learned well from the hard times. Can't complain because I'm still here. My family is doing well along with my Shih Tzu Lucy. My girls are now 23,14 & 15. I'm the one left out in the cold cause they are "Daddy's little Girls."
I continue to move forward in school for my doctoral in Educational Leadership. Should be done around 2012. This year begins the dissertation process which we know cause you to loose weight, hair, nerves and sleep. Well, loosing most of those won't hurt. But it simply takes dedication to your studies and my dissertation will focus on "the high drop out rate of minorities from higher learninng (college)during the first year and never returning to school." Right now nationally the estimate is around 72-76% which is unacceptable.
My dissertation research will be looking at specifically the preparation of Black American students for college with the mission to earn a degree. I've gotta choose an audience to keep it simple. I know it's go...Expand for more
nna be a tough one, but I'll have to narrow down the research and topic one it gets deep.
I am very interested in visiting Dinwiddie County and doing something educational with the youth. I know I was there once and wished for alot. If there is anyone else who has ideas on that give me an email and maybe we can do something that will benefit a school or an area.
Last of all, I must say that this Classmates Program is marked #1 to everything on the Internet for me because it allowed me to reunite with my best friend from Dinwiddie Jr. High through the 12th grade. Her name is Paula Barr... We ran track and cross country togeather every year. Her parents took me when ever I wanted to stay over. Paula was more than a friend...she was like a sister to me. After graduation we lost contact with each other for about 19 years. But.... Because of Classmates... we both found each other and have met again never to depart.
So for anyone checking out the scene here... Go Classmates Go!!
Take care mates. Stay Happy and Healthy. Blessings....
