Turner's Story

After graduation in 61 I took mechanical engr.at Del Mar. In the fall 63 I started a 5yr apprentice program in the Plumbers/Steamfitters. Upon completion I became a teacher/instructor, ALL at and thru DEL MAR TECH. I worked at the trade and taught apprentices until 77. At this period the ENERGY CRISSIS was hard on our buisness, so,I packed up my family and headed OVERSEAS, Iran-77-79 working for FLUOR CORP. Covered up 1100ac.with two OIL REFINERIES,GREECE 79-81,FLUOR built offshore oil/gas production platforms subsea flo-lines-onshore small refinery all of the single men came home with WIVES---TWO parties during the week AAAANNDD ALL WEEKEND,Indonesia 81-83 FLUOR.expanded a existing refinery they built in 74.The jungle of JAVA was a bust on my marriage .The wife rolled back across the PACIFIC like a TUMBLE WEED. The international community ran out of FUNDING,so I came back to CC got a divorce from my first wife and her kids. Next adventure was the NORTH SLOPE of Alaska 84-88. In 84 I found by pure accident the LOVE of my LIFE she is a GEM----PEARL----we are still together to this day and HAPPY. Back to AK.,I worked for VECO ,we did construction/services for the CONSORTUM-ARCO-BP, EXXON, CONOCO-etc..I helped open the FIRST tree under ANWAR in 87. Funding got tight so I went to Ca. THE EPA was forcing the refiners to comply. VECO moved into LA ,and we went to making MONEY...DID NOT LAST, BILL ALLEN'S politics in Ca. were not STRONG. BY the way PEARL was in Ca.with me. In 91 Pearl and I went to ST CROIX USVI HESS, did a major expansion.94-95 I did EPA MAN...Expand for more
DATED refinery revamps and expansions in LA/FRISCO,Ca.95-96I went to the island of IrianJAYA/Papa NewGUINEA FLUOR -FREEPORT MACMORAN Copper/GOLD process facility 12K elev.97 Iwent to KUWAITT to finish the construction of a polymer plant. Next I got dropped from the POUCH of a QUANTAS 747 in the DOWN UNDER DESERT of PERTH,Australia to complete the construction of a OPEN STRIPP NICKEL/COBOLT mining facility . The SOUTHERN SKY at night looks like you are standing in the desert looking thru the HUBBLE99. Until 04 I was building DUAL PHASE GAS FIRED ELECTRIC GENERATION PLANTS from Mass. Pa.and OH. After all of this+ 7 trips around the world I HUNG it UP in 04. Pearl and I TRADED for our retirement SHACK in 88. a little early but I could not pass--18 HOLE GC in back yard +a LAKE in front. It is not big--lake--but fishing is good. We are on the edge of NORTH TEXAS HILL COUNTRY, so if any of you are traveling thru BOWIE,TX "it is DRY", buy in neighboring counties. Now this story sounds like a workAholic but there were many vacations, good times, meeting new people on new projects that most people would run from. BY the way Pearl owned PEARLs FINE JEWELRY in CC in the 1980s. Youall HAVE A GOOD DAY----OH by all means keep on paying those SS TAXES---I do not want my lake to dry up------TURNER---- I will inject more as the re-colections pass across my BEER CAN-BY. One just showed----When I acidentally ran across CMs site I was negotiating for the yacht in my photo....It just blew me away---I lost out to a Druglord in Equadore. It's hard to out bid that kind of MULA.
