I probably wouldn't have seen myself where I am today, but then again, when does life ever lead us in a predictable manner?
After finishing up OAC, I went to the University of Ottawa for a couple of years, but dropped out after realizing that the programs I was taking just weren't for me. I've since been working full time and have had a few different jobs - usually phone work, but I try to keep my music on the side (when I have time, more as a hobby). I compose my own instrumental music, arrange it myself, produce it myself, and even have a CD of my music on the internet for sale. I alos love to sing - I've gotten my stepdaughter into singing as well, and her current dream is to one day be on Broadway (in a musical).
I currently work as a Product Support Specialist for March Networks Corp. in Ottawa (marchnetworks.com), which is a really fancy title for tech support, however my job has encompassed a lot more than tech support due to my language skills, so I end up assisting other departments as well, and I'm proud to say that I learned how to speak Spanish within 6 months and consider myself trilingual now (Portuguese (Brazilian), English, Spanish). I provide support to both North America and Latin America... I've been at March since December of 2005 and to this day still love my job! If you remember anything about me in high school, you'll remember that I was very heavily into music and the music department. Mr. Herlihey really helped to build that love in me - I think he saw the potential that I didn't even know I had, and now my dream is to one day make a living from music... but, candidly speaking, I don't really know if I would want to be involved with today's music industry. I find it very fickle... so for now, I just compose on the side and work a regular job as most others do.
You can find me at: tathiana.com where you'll find that I even wrote my own wedding music! Lots of pictures there as well, and yes, I've been married since October 2nd, 2004! I don't yet have any kids of my own (don't really want them), but I do have 2 step children one of which currently lives with us. That would be my music-loving stepdaughter, whom I've been helping build on her voice since she loves to sing. Hubby and I bought a house in August 2006 in Arnprior (about a half hour drive from Ottawa), and I definitely don't want any kids of my own.
In the past few years as well, I've had a chance to examine what my faith really entails, and I've found many faults in the Catholic Church that just don't line up with what the Bible says, thus making many of their teachings questionable to me. I have since converted from Catholicism to Christianity and have become a very fervent born-again Christian.
