Valerie's Story
Worked for a year after graduation,got married, started a family, bought a home in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Thought life was going to be fine..But God had different plan. Lost my husband after long illness, got confused, took my 2 kids and moved to Orlando area. Tried nursing school, but after 3/4 way thru decided that was not for me. Kids and I moved to north florida, I remarried.
After kids graduated and on their own, I went in hotel mgmt. Got to move around several times, but did get to meet some really nice interesting people. Some Astronauts, Singers, Artists, wrestlers, any nice everyday folks. Now live in n.e. suburb of Dallas, TX. Have 5 grandchildren ages 19yrs to 6months. (only 1 granddaughter). spent 12yrs on and off, trying to research roots, only to lose everything in a house fire.
Now on nice evenings, I enjoy sitting in yard, chatting with neighbors, and watch the world go...Expand for more
by. Enjoy some memories, and try to make a few new ones that the children can pass on.
The gift of time shared together is most precious and important. My daughter lives 2 miles from me, so I get to play grandma with the 6 mo old, and see the older kids according to their busy schedules.
Now, I am addicted to Facebook's Farm Town...funny thing is I found several ACHS classmates there and reconnected..great to relive and try to remember everyone..Have done some really crazy things in this life..
Could not find "reverse" on a VW bug and need to get out of the driveway and to the shopping mall...so..I drove the car around through the backyard and across the front yard..to get out onto the street..dumb me, could have just rolled it down the drive easier..lol made for some fun and memories for my kids.And..no..I am not a blonde..Now living in North Texas..but tend to move around alot.
