Valerie's Story
Life
Life... ahh... now that's a question I would love to hear Kyle McGreggor answer. I have several pets. My husband is a zoologist and I swear he would turn our house into a zoo if I let him. Thankfully most of his pets are adopted critters that live outside the home, like racoons. Inside we have a salt water tank, a cichlid tank, and a mutt tank with a handfull of baby cichlids and tropicals. We also have Tessa, a black cat with dazzling green eyes.
Kids are an issue of contension in the house right now. While both of us would like them, we are planning on travelling to Australia next year for an extended vacation. Having been to the south pacific before, I can assure you that I do not intend to make that flight either pregnant or with an infant. Since Rodney has not seen his family in a couple years, postponing is also out of the question. So the impatient would-be-grandparents will simply have to wait.
We moved into a nice house in Grand Rapids a few months after getting married. It is a beautiful home with a nice plot of land and a huge white wrap-around porch. It's also four bedrooms with a finished basement and 2.5 baths. It's actually kind of clunky for just two of us. Thankfully many of our friends decend upon us to keep it lively and full of bustling...Expand for more
activity.
I guess all that's left to say is that I miss many of my old friends and would love to hear from anyone and everyone!
School
My biggest crushes are something that I'll just have to keep to myself since they are members of classmates.com. As for teachers, I'd have to say that my favorites were Mrs Veldkamp, Mrs Zerfas, Mrs Ungery (originally Miss Mason), Mr Gossett, and Mr Rose. If I could do it all over again, I'd return to Grandville in a heartbeat. My funniest memories are often of the trouble I used to get into with Trisha, Jenny, and often the pranks that Eric Knight pulled. For those of you who remember there was also the dead pigs head that was part of a group project my senior year. My happiest memories are probably those of the art room and in choir. My craziest memories are strangely of the art room, choir, or one of the many musicals or plays being held at the school. I guess you could say that while I wasn't homecoming court material, I felt like we had a good class and I do miss it.
Workplace
Currently I'm a business analyst for Zelenka Nursery. Oddly enough the girl who needed Tom Fish's help with math now gets paid to crunch numbers for a living. All I can say is thankfully excel is wonderful once you master writing formulas. :)
