Valerie's Story
Life
I graduated from the University of Oregon in 1999 with a BA in Sociology (Minor in Women's Studies). I then moved to Florida to be a counselor at a year round camp for juvenille deliquent boys. After a broken nose, thumb, ankle, and bruises to many to count I became a teacher at the camp. I then taught at the camp for about four years. School as the drama/chorus teacher and so far I love love love my job. It's great to be called my name and not a crude names all the time. Although at times I miss camp, I have to say that I don't regret my change of careers at all. I've developed a southern accent, cook a mean pot of grits, and can't imagine my life any differently. In 2005 we welcomed Noelle Neil Session into the family. She is a complete joy to be around and now I feel as if my life is COMPLETE!
