Vanessa's Story
Oh God I hate talking about myself and how do you sum up 45 years? When I went to Caledonia in Grade 7 I was Ruth Jones (hated the name Ruth) and after a move to Victoria and graduation from Vic High I changed it to Vanessa. Went on to work for top legal firms in Vancouver and in 1992 moved to Cabo San Lucas Mexico and San Diego. Returned to Vancouver in 1997 (very economically via Princess Cruise Lines as I had worked for the Princess Hotel in San Diego). On my return I worked again for Lawson Lundell in Vancouver and lived in Kitsilano. Am now living in Victoria working for the feds which is definitely not as satisfying as my work in Vancouver. Enjoy fly fishing, boating, swimming in the ocean (in Los Cabos), roaring around on wave runners, playing board games, New York Times crossword puzzles. skiing at Whistler, and visiting my best friend Lisa in Torrevieja Spain. Often like to take off to the Fairmont in Scottsdale for R&R or to Caesars in Vegas where I meet up with my sisters. Have b...Expand for more
een known to do bungy jumping, zip lines and the roller coaster atop the Stratosphere in Vegas. Love excitement. Live by the beach and can hear the waves crashing in from my patio. Can't imagine living far from the ocean. Pets are important too and I love animals. Pretty much all animals. My son desperately wanted an iguana so I relented. She was a beautiful green iguana and of course I became the main caretaker. Now we have two cockatiels Mikey and Piper who have very distinct personalities. Would love to have a cat and/or dog. Used to have an Old English Sheepdog in my 20s and would do the show circuit. Major major work bathing and brushing. My sister would take off for Seattle when I started and I'd still be grooming when she returned 10 hours later! Right now we are under about a foot of snow and it confirms to me the reason we usually spend Christmas in Cabo. Oh bring it on! It's crazy in Victoria when it snows and the stores are just nuts. It's like ... just get me outta here!
