Veronica's Story
Life
i've been married for a year and a half now. i live in tepic, nayarit with my husband, 2 stepsons, and my 7 month old daughter
School
i only went to st. scholastica freshman and sophomore years. i finished high school in mexico
College
my initial choice was to study tourism, but i dropped out after a semester. to pass the time i got a job and then a year after, i decided to major in accounting in the Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit
those were the best 5 years, i liked what i was studying, i was good at it, made so many true friends. despite a bad relationship or two, i have no regrets from college
Workplace
when i dropped out of tourism, i got an odd job at the local fair working as an "accountant" of an attraction at the fair. it was more play than work because i started dating my boss, and the relationship lasted for 4 years. but anyway....
in my second year of college i worked part time at the coca cola company in accounting....Expand for more
the owner of the franchise in tepic happened to be the gobernor at the time, so that was good experience for me. after 2 years i quit to give myself a break, i was tired of the routine
a year later, in my 4th year of college, i started to work full time as an accountant at a hotel. it was very hectic but i loved it. i worked from 8 to 4, and went to school from 4 to 9 for two years. that has to have been my favorite job, i learned a lot, and the commotion of the hotel business is insanely hard and fun. i met my husband there, too. unfortunately after i got married and got pregnant, the hotel was sold to new owners. they fired all of the management and everyone in accounting, including me :(
that was a year ago, and now i'm waiting to be sent to guadalajara. liverpool is a department store, and one is going to open in tepic on september 25, and i will be sent to guadalajara to be trained, to work in human resources. so we'll see how that goes!
