Vickie's Story
Life
I was scheduled to graduate from Eagle Grove in 1984 but, instead, I moved to Oklahoma City and graduated there. Thirteen years later, after seven years at the University of Oklahoma and six at the University of Colorado, I finished my doctorate in sociology and took a faculty position at California State University, Northridge where I teach courses in the areas of gender, crime, and research. I was married in 1999, and in 2005 had a little girl, Elena, who has brought much joy and a whole lot of change to my life. I never imagined that I would actually be married ...Expand for more

I enjoy a variety of things ranging from old game shows, cartoons, and poker. I have two cats who thought they ruled my life until a baby came along! I am working on another degree (yes, I am a bit masochistic) in counseling and, hopefully, can make a career and residential shift away from sociology and Los Angeles. I guess I never really appreciated having a yard when I was growing up in town.
