Vicky's Story
It's complicated.. Had a really difficult time after my mom and dad divorced and we moved to Oregon after JR. High. Starting my first year of high school in Oregon I didn't know anybody of course. I dressed differently than others and it was really hard on me. I felt like an outsider; everyone else had friends they grew up with and I was by myself felling really out of place. Met my first husband when I was 15 and got married way too young at 19. I was probably searching for a male figure to fill the emptiness of not having my dad who moved to New York. sive. Feeling trapped with 3 young ones it was not easy to get out of there and took several years. Finally divorced and 2 years later he died of a drug overdose at a the age of 32. Married for a second time, he turned out to be a horrible acholic and we divorced about 15 years ago. At 56 years old now, the freedom is the most amazing feeling. I have 3 successful grown children and 5 grandchildren. Still living in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon. Love the Oregon coast and Mt Hood, Oregon is the most beautiful place to live. I go camping and hiking as much as possible. Life wasn't/isn't easy, but I don't think it's meant to be. We learn as we go, life is a journey so carry on.
