Victoria's Story
Life
My family still lives in Varina. I have three sons and one daughter. David, my oldest, is married to his college sweetheart and lives in South Boston. He works as a network administrator for an international manufacturer and his wife, Sara, is a registered nurse. I am waiting for grandchildren, but so far only have grandpuppies. David owns a .com site specializing in car accessories as well as a car accessorizing business, The Shop, in South Boston. He and Sara have built a beautiful home in the country and have no excuse not to have beautiful babies - GET WITH IT YOU TWO!
My son, Jamie, is a recent graduate of the International Baccalaureate Program in Henrico and has enrolled in the Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness program at VCU. He hopes to pursue a career in Emergency Management and is now an EMT. He works as the Medical Director for the Boy Scouts of America at Camp Brady Saunders.
Rob, our artist, is a student at the Center for the Arts in Henrico studying Visual Arts. He is working to become an Eagle Scout, following the footsteps of his two older brothers. He has recently gotten his driver's license (you can imagine our insurance premiums with two teenage male drivers...Expand for more
;-( UGH!).
Tori is a student in the Middle YearsInternational Baccalaureate Program at Moody Middle School and hopes to study vocal musical theatre in high school and college. She spends vacation time in New York City with Destination Broadway and was recently selected to audition for the casting director at Roundabout. In Richmond she studies with Christian Youth Theater and the Richmond Ballet. She has danced competitively since the age of four and enjoys cheering on several friends who have made it to "So You Think You Can Dance".
My husband, Dan, is with Continental Airlines and I am with Henrico County Public Schools (Ward Elementary). I spend my summers in Duck, NC at our beach home, where we hope to retire when the nest is empty.
Living and working in Varina gives me a chance to see many classmates and teachers on a regular basis. My oldest graduated from VHS in 1998 (the others attend(ed) magnet programs housed at other high schools in the county). Much has changed at Varina but much has stayed the same. One or two of our teachers are STILL THERE (remember Mr. Stauffer and the pie in the face incident? Guess it didn't faze him - he's still there!).
I would love to hear from friends!
