Virgil's Story
After graduation in 1964, I worked in and around Greene County for 1 year. Got caught up in Viet Nam draft and enlisted in the Air Force for 21 years. Served three tours in VietNam, 2 years in Thailand and six and one half years in Germany. The balance was at U.S. bases. My military career was spent in Transportation and Logistics Plans. man after VietNam. I am currently an owner-operator truck driver. I run all 48 states and Canada. I got tired of being told that I was over qualified every time I applied for a job. So driving a truck is my way of escaping. We have a daughter who works for Greene Cnty Health Dept. A son who lives the Norfolk, Va area. Four Grandchildren 2 boys and 2 girls.My mother still lives in Union Point and she turned 91 years old this year.
