Virginia Gail's Story
Life
After graduating from Dougherty High School in 1971, I attended Albany Junior College (now known as Darton College). After graduating in 1973, I went to work for Home Federal Savings and Loan and continued to live in Albany until 1978. I moved to Americus when Home Federal opened a new branch office there and attended Georgia Southwestern for about a year and a half. s brought us here and when he retired in 1990, we decided to stay. I went to work for Barnett Bank in 1982 (which was later acquired by Bank of America) and stayed with that company until June 2004. We have a 22-year old son named Clay who will be leaving for Air Force basic training December 27, 2005. I am currently a 5th and 6th grade teacher at a Christian school. I have only been back to Albany once since graduating and that was only passing through on our way somewhere else.
