I retired for the third, and final (insha'allah) time in Jan. 2007. And I love it. So does Samantha, my Yorkie, who rules the roost around here. She went to boarding school last year. Gave a whole new meaning to my mother sending me, Anne, and Jennifer to Brenau! She graduated with honors and now sees her best friend most Saturdays when she goes to the "club" (aka the kennel and her school) for day care. He is a lab who lives across the street and down one balcony, named Figo.

he apartment. Arabic classes continue. I read the other day that it takes 4 to 5 years to become fluent so I feel better about my progress. I'm looking for someone to practice with. Doesn't work with my housekeeper as she keeps finishing my sentences.
The picture is from the rehearsal dinner for my nephew Eddie's wedding in NC in June, 2008. It was the first time I'd been back to the U.S. in four years so I thought the least I could do, being the aunt from Egypt, was look exotic. You can't see the ring or the bracelet. The English hat requested by the groom for the wedding was a Fascinator from my favorite hat shop in the Covered Market in Oxford.
