Walt's Story
Life
I'm living in Mesquite, NV now with my wife Polly. It's been an interesting journey getting here and I'm sure you all have as many stories to tell as I do. I taught at Enumclaw High School from 1973-1985 and then joined a company named Herff Jones Yearbooks in 1985. I was initially a yearbook rep in the Tucson area for the company and then became a manager in 1989. Since then I have managed different areas for the company around the US and have essentially had all the West at one point or another. I now manage the Southwest US and Hawaii for the company and am looking to about three more years before I "head in a different direction."
I have four children. Heather is my oldest and she lives in Enumclaw with her great husband, Brad, and three gorgeous children. I love be a Grandpa. ted from the UW about a year ago is speech pathology. Finally, I have a son who is a sophomore at Southern Utah University. Robbie is in pre-law.
I currently have 7 grandchildren. Wally's wife gave birth to a baby girl in June 2008 and she is a doll. Wally also has three other children and Heather has three of her own. They still live in the Enumclaw/Buckley area.
Okay, you guessed it, there were a few marriages involved to get me to this point. I've made mistakes in life but look back now with amazement. Life is full of challenges and I, obviously, have been fortunate to where I am with my life, wonderful children and grandchildren, and an understanding wife. It's amazing how much "wiser" I am now. I apologize often in my heart to those who I have hurt to make me wiser.
I did have a great time in Scottsdale, AZ in August as Gar Vandegrift, Dick Bradley, Steve McCoid and I got together to celebrate Dick's 60th birthday. Gosh, they look old.
Life goes on after 60.
