Walter Rutherford:  

College Well I have spent a lot of time in College. After HS I graduated from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. (near Pittsburgh where I majored in Business Management. After three years in the Army and in the Vietnam War I changed a lot and pursued a masters degree in Counseling from State University of NY at Plattsburgh in the very North country of NY state. I attended University of Vermont for post gradute work in psychology and finished a PHD in psychology in southern California at William Lyon University in 1986. Personally, I have travelled a lot of different paths since Saint Cecilia's....leaving NJ to go to Pittsburgh brought with it new vistas, new perspectives and a much more liberal attitude. After college the shock of being a reluctant participant in the southeast asia war games of 1969, better know as the Viet Nam War made me an observer of and participant in some of the best and the worst of human behaviors. The choices of life made clear to me at that point were to serve others or to serve myself. I chose others, not in a co-dependent way but as a conscious decision to better myself and to find God. Since that time I have been very interested in studying the mind and I thought it best in doing so to start with studying my own mind. Tibetan Buddhism was introduced to me after a period of studying meditation and this has been my path for the past 20 years or so.
