Wanda's Story
I have been a Federal Government employee for the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn for the past 25+ years and still there. So I have basically seen Woodlawn all my life...ummm.
I have been married for almost 7 years (in September) to a very fine young man by the name of Johnny (in the pic with me)...lol.
I have 2 beautiful children Brandon (23 and pictured on my page) & Cierra (19 and pictured on my page) and 3 step-children Kiera (22), Antonio (19 and pictured on my page) and Tamara (18). My son Brandon is in the music industry. He writes for artist and does his own thing. My daughter attends Empire Beauty School. My oldest stepdaughter attends Frostburg State and the youngest is in her last year of high school...also a former Woodlawn Warrior. My stepson is just off the hook, but I love him to death. I have had 6 pit bulls, 1 scorpion, 3 snakes, 1 hamster and an Iguana since school. I currently have 1 fish named "The Incredible Mr. Limpet"...I sure some of you remember that movie with Don Knotts. Update: I now have 9 fish.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Tonya Payne whom I attended Wilberforce University with, because we have a lot to talk about...lol. I use to live in a dorm and it was the life. I love the one year I spent at Wilberforce, it was an adventure. I was also a Kappa Sweetheart. I remember my first day on the basketball court...that was the day Tonya and I met the Central State Football team. Man them guys were huge then. I was to play basketball for Wilberforce, but the year I attended, they decided to end their sports programs. I was given a chance to attend classes at Central State University whic...Expand for more
h was across the street from Wilberforce and play ball their, but it was to much of a hassle. I remember the first "homeboy" I met was a guy named Alvin who was from the Cherry Hill area of Baltimore. He played on Central States football team and ladies he was F..I..N..E.! (Hey Alvin, remember Silk (that's me) and Smooth (my buddy Tonya from Michigan.) I was given the name Silk or Silky at Wilberforce because of my ball playing and shooting pool which I never did until college. I was the Galaga champion also. Oh I almost forgot, I had a body guard in college and his name was Dave and he was huge and played for Central State also. Hi Dave...love and miss you. He was about 6'3 and 275 pounds. And boy do I miss my friends from Wilberforce: Darryl from S. Carolina, Curtiss J. from Detriot whom was my love interest, Howie from New York, Ron H. from New Mexico, Bruce from Delaware or Pennsylvania and so many more to name.
I love football, basketball, wrestling and boxing. I love the reality shows I Love New York, Flavor Flav, College Hill and Baldwin Hills when it was on. My favorite TV show is First 48 and I love all the CSI shows, Jerry Springer, Maury and any world news station. I like watching the Animal Planet and Discovery Channels on cable. I am an forensic fanatic who LOVES whodunits.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 5% of it to charity, 5% to be distrubuted among 5 churchs in Baltimore City, 5% to homeless shelters in Baltimore City and 50% in investments then spend the rest on a new home and a new car. I would also be able to start my own catering business.
In 10 years, I hope to be retired. I'm going to get there by putting in my last few years here.
