Wanda's Story
In 2000, my eyesight took a sudden turn to the weird which has resulted in my now being legally blind. My vision is continuing to degrade as a third condition had been added to the two that originally impacted my sight. Prognosis is not good.
In early 2015, I was diagnosed with Complex PTSD. Over forty years in the making, it has caused most of my memories to become irretrievable. I remember very little of high school and even less of my forty year marriage. Retrieving and sorting memories has become of great importance to me. A quick update. With a place to feel safe to heal, my PTSD symptoms have decreased. My physical health has gotten better. And in April 2018, when I visited my eye care provider, I was able to get my vision corrected to 20/40. In 2000, when my vision began it's downward spiral, that was the best correction it could get (in April that year, too). In August 2000, it had deteriorated to 20/100.
I can see leaves on trees again. I see individual flowers instead of masses of colors. And when I got my new glasses, I saw my best friend's face for the first time ever.
