My military communications background provided me experience that allowed me sustain a forty year career niche within Raytheon. Similarly, my co-op missile systems work assignments at the Westinghouse Air Arm Div, Baltimore , Md (1958-1960), carried over to my intial post graduate job at AVCO's MinuteMan Missile System (1961-1966). Little did I dream ,when I was pulling a tour as Staff Duty Officer in Poitiers , France (1962-64) , sleeping on a GI cot to be available to process high priority parts requisitions coming in from throughout the European Theatre for the HAWK Missile System that some 5 or 6 years later ,that I would begin working on the HAWK missile system for Raytheon (Sept 1969) and continue for the next 35 years. Among the hobbies Mary and I share is our love of European travel. We go at least once a year. in 2010 year we went to Norway and later to central Italy (St Michele de Serino ), near Avellino, where my mother's parents were from. In(2014) we were revisited our friends from Oslo and Voss, Norway .This year, we were joined by our Army friends ,Joyce and Mike McCall who served with me in Poitiers ,France , 52 years ago, at our vacation home in South Harpswell ,Maine. We often visit Ireland. We particularly like Kinsale , located on the coast of Cork, Just below Cork City.We were last there in Oct 2006.
