Workplace
Let me see...moved to Texas got a computer programming job for a Savings and Loan - the bottom fell out with corporate scandel in late 80's. Moved into the fast pace world of stocks & bonds - black monday happened...okay, let's try a completely different avenue - went back to school and started teaching art part time and working professionally in the theatrical world but then got a divorce and ex-hubby's lawyer unsuccessfully tried to have me shown as a "crazy" person because (as she said) "anyone working in the arts is weird". Anyway - to successfully be able to provide for my daughter I had to leave my beloved artistic world behind and jump stedfast back into corporate America (blah). Worked for Nortel Networks as a Global Program/Project Manager for 5 years until massive crash of the Telecom industry came - (Yeah, yeah, yeah...I see the pattern too!) After having my second daughter I decided to stay home and give full-time mommyhood a try. After a year of that - I needed something else...knew I didn't like working f...Expand for more
or others, so I started a Medical Uniform Distribution Company. Where as it was very successful...just didn't get me jazzed - so I had another kiddo (daughter #3). So it was another year of staying home and playing fulltime Mommy (which I love more than anything else in the world) but there are bills to pay, children to feed - so I embarked on yet another industry to have fun in - health and life insurance. I received my state certification and License and worked a brief time as an independent agent of AFLAC - but didn't like the pressure sales aspect of it. So back to corporate America. Landed a job with Cingular wireless as a Project Manager and Quality Control officer for the decommissioning of all redundant cell sites throughout the North Texas Market. Challenging and had the opportunity to work with some really great folks...but after one year and Cingular changing back to the new AT&T - I had the business opportunity to open an indoor golf center with an associate I had met at Cingular. Unfortunately the infant business couldn't make it beyond it's first year financially...so we closed it in January of 2008. I went back into telecom to pay the bills and keep the kids fed. Keeping it fun...keeping it real.
