Wendy's Story

Life So cliche, but I'm still not entirely sure where the last 30 years went. Must be some time-sucking blackhole out there somewhere. It's been a good ride, but I really have nothing extraordinary to report. I live in San Francisco, which is quite a kick. We came here for Dave to do a 3-year medical residency - 15 years ago and it kind of grew on us. If you've been here, you know - fabulous climate, food, music, people, scenery etc. I still have to go to Oregon to get my fix of strawberries, raspberries and peaches, but we sometimes get to eat our breakfast out in the backyard in February. I'm growing up a little girl and a (little) garden, so I still run in the waves and play in the dirt. My Birkenstocks get only weekend wear since they don't go well with my suits. challenge to my self image was probably buying a Volvo wagon -- yes, the Fiat is long gone, but Dave is an Alfa Romeo guy, so I can still savor the thrill of unreliable transportation. We live in the city, out near the ocean. For urban living, we have remarkably easy access to the beach and open space. We've got racoons, skunk, fox, and coyotes in the golf course across the street. And walking the dog out to the Lands End cliffs to watch the cormorant colony almost satisfies the marine biologist in me. I had no idea I would ever live in San Francisco. In fact, I had distinct intentions NOT to, believing myself too smart to live in an earthquake zone (not realizing at the time that Oregon is one). Life is unpredictable that way. So what became of you? Drop me a line. Wendy
