Wendy's Story

Life Hi Everyone! It has been awesome to see some of the names from the past as I have scrolled through the 75-79 list of Heritage friends. The two reunions I attended were so much fun! I got a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from CSU in 1985, then started working for Aurora Public Schools for the next 9-years. I met my husband in 1992, we were married in '93 and had our first boy (Jake) in '94. We adopted our second child (Bryan) in 1998. Bryan has Cystic Fibrosis which has kept us busy with caring for his medical needs, involved with fund-raising for Children's Hospital as well as fund-raising for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I decided to stay at home with my boys while pregnant with Jake. I never thought I'd be a "mom of boys" but I love it! It is loud and wild and very busy, sometimes bloody and ...Expand for more
sometimes all plans have to be dropped as we head to the doctor for stitiches but it keeps life exciting! My husband is the CFO for the Children's Hospital Foundation and we have a few other business ventures to raise money for our foundation which in turn donates to Children's Hospital and CF. We've met a lot of great people along the way and being involved with both of these organizations has given my life a purpose that I never knew possible. Before kids we loved to travel to Europe when possible, with kids we travel to the nearest ski-slope! In the summertime, the Lake of the Ozarks is the typical destination. I volunteer at the boys' schools, for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and for the Children's Hospital. I have a great network of friends through my boys and the neighborhood and I'd have to say "Life is good!"
