Wes's Story
"ABOUT ME"
After El Cap I was drafted into the Army. Following the Army I was in the fire service for 18 years then in elementary education as a teacher for 16 years & a school administrator for 3 years.
I'm currently retired...........I had three fabulous careers........ I feel very rewarded in the opportuities I was afforded and the accomplishments I achieved in all three.
I've bee married once and that was for ten (10) years. I have two daughters...40 and 36.
I'm an individual with a kind heart, a quick mind and eclectic interests who is educated, optimistic, secure, open-minded, adventurous and who is content with who I am and where I am in my life....
My best friend would tell you I'm confident, have high self-esteem, am always active and sees the world as positive and has an attitude of "the glass is always half-full" but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet, reserved and a little shy
I enjoy visiting museums, browsing through antique shops and home/garden shows, going to the theater, comedy clubs, the movies, basketball, football and baseball games as well as riding bikes, photography, landscape design, interior design & remodel, woodworking, people watching, viewing sunsets, board & card games, darts, beach volleyball and traveling.
My music tastes include Jazz, Blues, CW and Lite Rock. My favorite food choices are Seafood, Mexican and Cajun.
After my oldest daughter graduated from Santana High, her and I backpacked through Mexico and all of Central America for 20 weeks.
I've done whitewater rafting on the American, Colorado, Rouge, Snake, Kern, Missouri and Nile Rivers.

I have had the opportuity to trek/backpack: the Hawaiian Islands including the Napoli Coast Trail; the West Coast Trail in the Pacific Rim Nat.Park on Vancover Island; Alaska's Inside Passage from Ketchikan to Skagway; Alaska, including Mt. McKinley, Mt. Wrangell, Mt. Blackurn, Mt. St. Ellias, Beigh Peak, Boggs Peak, Bard Peak, Sitka, Anchorage, Fairbanks, Seward, Hommer, Valdez, McCarthy, Denali Park, Chugach St. Park, The Johnson Trail (Idiatarod Trail), Chilkoot Trail (Klondike Gold Rush Trail), Kenai Penensula, Portage Glacier, Learnard Glacier, Price William Sound,Kodiak Island; Western Canada and 13 African countries.
I've been fortunate to have had the experience of summiting Mt. Kilamenjaro, Mt. Kenya, Mt. Whitney, Mt. Raineer and hiking up to the base camp of Mt. McKinley.
I've ridden my bicycle from Vancover, Canda to the San Diego/Mexico border and from Bangor, Maine to Charleston, South Carolina.
In sports I'm addicted to Football, Basketball, Beach Volleyball; in animals it's wolves, eagles, panthers, Pit Bulls and Orcas..
My dream home would be somewhere on the coast of northern CA or OR, on Flathead Lake, MT, in Belize, Portugal, or Greece.
From living life up to this point I've learned that: respect for an individual is earned, loyality is a gift to be given, allowance for personal independence leads to growth, trust is needed and is worth the risk, open and honest communication relieves stress and is key to any relationship being meaningful and sincere, time for self keeps you young and energized, being fair and open-minded makes you a good problem solver and being positive is fun and inpowering. .
