Widad's Story
Life
I graduated from Pershing JHS and went to John Jay HS is 1981. After that, I went to NYC Technical College and then worked as a technician for a while. I then got my electrical engineering degree at Pratt University. I went to work for Hewlett Packard designing disc drives in Boise, Idaho. 4 years later, HP relocated me to Colorado. After living in CO for 3 years, I went to live in Israel and stayed there for 3 years. I came back to the US in 2002 with my little girl. At the time, she was only 3 months old. e girl is now 4 years old. We own a house in a little town in Colorado. My family still live in Brooklyn where we lived back in my HS and JHS days. I go to NY often to see my family, but I can no longer live in NY. Once you live in a place as beautiful as Colorado, you can never go back to NY. I love it here.
Workplace
While going to engineering school, I worked as a technician in the world trade center. I installed video cameras and security systems. Later, I worked at HP designing disc drives and tape drives. Now, I work for Seagate still desingning disc drives for consumer electronics.
