William's Story
Life
Much as I have tried over the last seven years, I have yet to become the lizard king.
They just won't have me. They say I'm not short enough, or green.
School
Started off grade school at Stockard Coffee Elementary in Modesto, CA for Kindergarten and 1st grade. My father got transferred to Jackson, TN and I attended 2nd grad at Old Hickory Academy. He then quit his job for personal reasons and we moved to Charles City, IA where I attended Immaculate conception for 3rd grade, and the first month or so of 4th grade. We then moved to Ballwin, MO where I went to Claymon for the rest of grade school.
Then Parkway West middle and high through the rest of k-12.
After Parkway West I went to UMSL for an MIS degree. It didn't really go too well for me. I was sitting in Cobal programming class one day and just realized that it wasn't anything I ever wanted to do...sit behind a computer all day. So I became a communications major for a whopping one semester. That was an obviously poor idea, and fueled by a love for cooking a...Expand for more
nd complements from several people on things I'd cooked, I enrolled at the ultrapathetic Culinary School at Forest Park.
School went bad, but the career went great. I worked in a number of great places, and ended up on a junior culinary olympic team winning a gold and silver metal doing pastries. It was as much school as anything I'd ever done.
Ironically I work on computers again, however, as you'll see by looking at my ever exciting work history.
Workplace
Poorly written, but:
Pantry cook at Remy's Kitchen and wine bar for 6 months, Garde Manger cook for two years at the Racquet Club Ladue, lead line cook at Harvest Restaurant for 1 year, Pastry Chef at Truffle's Restaurant for 1 month.
Then, Pre sale tech support at Boise Technology for one year where I got laid off.
Now network support at US Foodservice; Allen Division as well as working part time at the Racquet Club Ladue.
Basically, I cooked, I got tired of it when I met my wife, but got the itch again on my honeymoon in Napa Valley so I'm doing it again part time.
