William's Story
I lived in Hawaii from 1967-1970. My Dad was in the Air Force you know. In 1970 he got orders to McCoy AFB where he got mustered out of the service. My family stayed in the Orlando area. I transferred to Conway junior high from Aliamanu. From there I entered Boone high school but quit before graduating to join the Navy. Since I had been kept back a year; not sure why, maybe I was stupid, or maybe it was the poor schools that some military brats might get shuffled off to in hellish places the military sends people. ng story short, I was going to become old enough to enlist before my class mates so I quit school. I did like playing hippie but I was patriotic and wanted to do my part before the Vietnam war ended. Okay I'm stupid, haha. Well I didn't get disappointed. I seen the end of that lousy war. Thank God Nixon ended it. So, I got out of the Navy, used my G.I. Bill on getting my high school diploma and then a tech school trade. I am retired now and am glad, finally I can do things when and where I want and don't have to worry about my job.
