My Spouse
While working in a hospital to support my university education I met my wife a student nurse at the time. She was from Marblehead, a strange alien place to a guy from Roxbury. But we managed to hit it off despite that and her father being the Chief of Police in M'Head!! We were married on 3 June 1961. we hiked through mountains and rainforests for four days. We've hiked extensively in New Zealand and in Tasmania over the past few years.
We have two grown sons; Dr. William (Cody) Fitzgerald, a general surgeon in private practice living in Mackay, Queensland. He's married and has three children (our grandchildren!); and Sean, a lawyer, Head of Legal services for the City of Redcliffe, a bayside suburb of Brisbane.
