William's Story

Life William F. "Clark" Kent is President of BTL Technologies, Inc., a Medical and Information Technology Services company based in San Antonio, Texas, with satellite offices in Alabama and the greater Washington area. BTL contributes more than $5 million to the U.S. economy annually, supporting close to 100 American jobs in 8 different states. He received a B. A. degree in Political Science from Ohio University in 1980 and a Master of General Administration degree from Central Michigan University in 1993. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program and entered active duty in November 1980. His initial assignment was to the 58th Tactical Training Wing, Luke AFB, Arizona. In February 1985, he was assigned to the 5th Weather Wing, Langley AFB, Virginia. There he served as Director of Administration. In September 1987, he was selected for the Air Force Institute of Technology Education with Industry program and was assigned to the General Electric Co. in Princeton, NJ. In July 1988, he was assigned to the Aeronautical Systems Division, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. There he served as a Contracts Manager for the B-1B Systems Program Office. onic Systems Division, Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts. There he served as a Contracts Manager for the $277 million Caribbean Basin Radar Network program. He later was appointed as Procuring Contracting Officer for the $5 billion Milstar Satellite Communications program. In June 1995, he was assigned to Air Command and Staff College as Deputy Director of Evaluations. In July 1996 he moved to the War Theory and Campaign Studies Department where he served as an Academic Instructor and Advisor. In June 1997, he became Deputy Chairman of the War and Theater Level Studies Department. In November 1997, he was assigned to Headquarters Air Education and Training Command as the personal speechwriter for the Commander, General Lloyd W. “Fig” Newton, RAFB, Texas. In June 1999 he was assigned as the Commander of the 12th Contracting Squadron, Randolph Air Force Base (RAFB), Texas. In June 2002 he was assigned as a Loaned Executive to the United Way of San Antonio and hosted the Small Business Advocacy Television Program entitled "Opportunity Showcase." Bill "Clark" Kent retired from the Air Force in Mar 2003, in the grade of Lieutenant Colonel, after serving his country for over 22 years. He is married to the former Sibyl Y. Hargrove of Montgomery, Alabama.
