William "Buzz"'s Story
Life
After graduating Rockville in '83, I spent a few years at
Montgomery College, as a Theatre major. However, due to
foolish fears, I never had the guts to move to L.A. and
pursue film acting as a career. Instead, I knocked about
from job to job, and classes became fewer and farther
apart. Eventually, I married a girl I met at MC, and in
1995 we moved to L.A., where, instead of acting, I
pursued work in Creature Effects, Modelmaking, and
Propmaking. I worked on films starring F. Murray Abraham,
Will Smith, Tom Hanks, Sigourney Weaver, Johnny Depp,
Jim Carrey, etc., on such films as ALI, Pearl Harbor,
Road to Perdition, Gangs of New York, The Majestic,
Copycat, and a list I couldn't begin to remember
completely. I even got screen credit on Tales From the
Crypt's "Bord...Expand for more
ello of Blood" and Miramax' "Mimic"
Propmaking turned out to be the best job I ever had, but
since my twin boys were reaching school age, I didn't want
to stay in L.A. anymore, with its failing school system.
We moved back to Maryland, (Frederick), where we bought a
house.I tried to find film work, but what I could get was
sporadic, and paid little, if any. This seems to have
been the thing which led my wife to decide she wanted
out of the marriage. I do not object to the fact that she
wanted out, but the way she went about it was enough that
finally decided that I wanted out, too. And so, combining
that with my Mother's death the day after this past
Christmas (2006) leaves me in a position in which I must
reinvent myself or perish. Let's see what I can make of
myself...
