William's Story
Life:
My lifestyle requires a lot of travel. I spend the day working via my laptop. For enjoyment, I study classical guitar but I have an affinity for blues. I have plans to buy property in northern Arizona (I thought of Sedona but can't handle the weird asses). I would love to hear how people are doing, but if you were a jackass in the past & still remain so; then let's not waste each others time as you are obviously incurable and a punch in the mouth from me is not likely to change either of our opinions. Go clean yourself up, get a clue, & then come back.
As a side note, one curious thing with classmates is that it doesn't highlight what went wrong. Not that I think it should (as it probably wouldn't be very popular) but I think it does a disservice to all the hard work & effort that went into achieving my goals. It makes it appear as though everything in life just fell into nice, neat little pieces and this is simply not true. Nobody is perfect. I have made a lot of good choices in my life, but I have also made bad ones. My life has taken many twists & turns and I have had challenges and obstacles to overcome. In the end, all anyone can do is attempt to make the best decision & choices they can with the information available (which may not always be the correct one), and learn from it.
People who come on here and present themselves as though the universe somehow endows them with special favors aren't fooling anyone (except themselves).
I have had good times, bad times, & everything in between. I would think that would be true with everyone (but the object is to have more good than bad). I worked extremely hard to achieve my goals and I elected to go out & take what I wanted out of life (sometimes having to create the circumstances for opportunities to arise). While everyone else was busy trying to get their "piece of the pie," I was busy figuring out a way to bake my own. Sometimes things have worked out, sometimes they haven't. Quite simply, I enjoy the ability to learn & experience as much in life as I can and I have been fortunate to have had the opportunitie...Expand for more
s that were made available to me.
After all the struggle & hard work (juggling life, school, and work), it is finally nice to be in a position where I can relax and fully enjoy the fruits of my labor. So for now, I will continue to make hay while the sun is shining.
Overall, I have had a pretty good life and I have a lot to be thankful for. I have very few (if any) regrets and I sleep with a good conscious. As for now, I think I am just going to set the "cruise control," continue to have some fun, and coast awhile.
College:
I have an Associate Degree and 2 Bachelor Degrees. I sometimes take evening college courses for enjoyment. I am CompTIA A+, Network+, and Project+ Certified in addition to being a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (although personally, I prefer Apple). I belong to 1 National Honor Society and 2 International Honour (traditional spelling) Societies. I was nominated as top of my graduating class by both my professors and my peers and I am a graduate of the Barrett Honors College at ASU.
(Note: I almost completed a 3rd Bachelor Degree in Network Communications Engineering but life intervened and I stopped two semesters shy of finishing. I am considering returning & completing this under a Master Degree program).
Workplace:
I am a Senior Executive Web Analyst & work as a IT consultant for a virtual (internet) research company. I primarily work from home (& on the go) performing web data analysis. My specialty is in networking & developer industries. I advise a wide range of clients including (but not limited to) Cisco, Nortel, Novell, Alcatel-Lucent, IBM, Sun Microsystems, EMC, BEA, Computer Associates, Intel, Oracle, HP,etc.
Military:
I am a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard having served nearly 9 years. As for duty stations, I enjoyed my tour with the Polar Star & vacationing in Canada, Australia, Tasmania, Bora Bora, Hong Kong, & Tokyo-but my favorite duty station was Guam. Great place! Far superior to Hawaii (& Tahiti). Lots of white sand tropical beaches with hardly anyone on them. A little Sangria with Rum & you have paradise.
