Yanda's Story
Married since 89,
Have 2 girls: 12 and 7

In school I was just a shy, chubby average "wallflower" that just blended into the crowd, definately not one that was out to draw attention to myself. I wasn't into sports or any kind of an extrovert in any way but I would hope that the people who knew me and that I was friends with or acquaintances with would remember me as someone who was a kind person and if I could help someone in any way I would. I wasn't in the "IN" crowd nor was I getting myself into trouble. Just did my best to make it through whatever came my way. When I look back at those years I wish I wouldn't have been so shy and pushed myself to be a little more outgoing.
My first job after highschool was at JC Penney Cafe, What I remember most about it is the people and friends made.

neys I then went to Beauty college but I never settled in it, had a few other jobs at restaurants and Lane Plywood and then moved to Albany and worked at some restaurants there and then moved again near Portland.
My best friend is Melissa (Bourgo) who I've known since 2nd grade, over the years as people come and go in our lives she is one who has ALWAYS been there and stayed in touch throughout.
I often wonder what happened to everyone over the years after losing that contact that was a part of school and/or work I have a few that I still keep in touch with every now and then and they are the ones I've known since grade school or Jr. High.
Have worked a few different Fred Meyer since Nov. 88 and still working for them, Enjoy seeing and visiting the familiar faces of the customers over the years and for the most part the fellow employees.
