Yvette's Story
Life
After I left St. Pat's grade 12, I went to second year CEGEP at St. Lawrence, then did one year of a BA in Modern Languages at Loyola. While there, I met my husband and four years later we were married. Two year after that we moved to Kitchener and were there for 14 years when he was let go from Prudential Assurance, Computer section - he had worked there for 21 years. We had two girls and had a lovely life in Kitchener. I had worked as a legal secretary after leaving the Mother House in Montreal (the year after University), medical secretary, human resource assistant, Volunteer Resources Coordinator for a drop-in centre for Moms and Kids, private day care operator and toy salesperson. We restarted our lives in Ottawa 10 years ago and it hasn't been easy. My husband is gainfully employed as a Management Consultant, I own my own business as a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant (go figure), and have worked as a Medical Clinic ...Expand for more
Manager and as an Executive Admin. Assistant for the Red Cross. I love to sing and am a member of a Community Choir, gave my guitar to my eldest daughter who has amazing talent in trombone and is a singer also. As a family we love the outdoors, and have been fortunate to be able to rent a cottage for this summer. Can't wait. (Update - we bought the cottage - it is in the lower Laurentians and an absolute delight - thanks, Dad! We have camped in several Ontario Provincial Campgrounds, some in the Atlantic provinces, and spent oodles of time at Sauble Beach when we lived in Kitchener. My husband turned 50 last year, I will be 49 in September and we have been married 25 years. He is an amazing person and I love him dearly - he has stood by me and supported me through some very difficult times - and he is the best father my kids could have as well as a dedicated and devoted family man. God Bless whovever reads this and long life
