Yvette's Story
Life
Graduated from high school at the age of 18 with two kids. Went to college in Kingsville for one semester and soon got homesick so went back to Asherton where I started attending SWTJC in Uvalde. Divorced at the age of 19 and continued with college for one more year. Life changed; got back with my ex then moved to Minnesota. Lived in Minnesota for approx. 7 years, received a Legal Secretary Diploma from South Central Technical College and had two more children. Worked for Legal Aid for one year, then for the Public Defenders Office for four years. Moved to Austin, Texas in 1998, rented an apartment for about 3 years and then bought a house in Cedar Creek, Texas. My oldest daughter ...Expand for more
graduated from high school in 2005 and still lives at home (which I enjoy). My second daughter is in high school and will graduate in 2007; my son is expected to graduate in 2009 and my baby still has a long way to go -- he's only 8 years old. I have my hands full with work and family, to say the least.
I love my job at Vinson & Elkins (Vinson & Elkins LLP has been named one of the "50 Best Companies to Work for in Texas" by Best Companies Group, in conjunction with Texas Monthly magazine, the Texas Association of Business, and the Society for Human Resource Management - Texas State Council).
I play for the V&E Softball team and loving it.
All in all, I am happy with my life.
