zafar's Story
Zafar Hasan is a family law attorney and lawyer in Richmond, Virginia.
Zafar Hasan graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Political Science. While at the University of Richmond, he participated in numerous clubs and was involved in a number of activities, including intramural athletics. During the summers, he worked as a research assistant in the political science department. Upon graduation, he accepted a permanent position doing research to support the social sciences at the University. He took this position because he was trying to decide whether to pursue a PhD in Political Science or whether he wanted to go to law school. Ultimately, he decided to pursue law school.

irst year, he clerked at a small firm in Raleigh. After his second year, he clerked for a major law firm and received an offer of permanent employment from the firm. Zafar Hasan practiced law in major law firms for several years before deciding to establish his own practice. His work in the big firms was principally in the area of litigation, but he did support other areas as well.
Ultimately, Zafar Hasan did establish his own practice, focusing on family and labor law issues. He has a broad practice as a solo practitioner, but his work as an attorney and lawyer is mainly in these two areas.
Outside of the law, Zafar Hasan has been married for over 25 years. He and his wife have two adult daughters. As empty nesters, they spend a great deal of time volunteering in the local community. They also enjoy restaurants, movies and playing board games. They love to travel.
