We now have 34 classmates who’ve said they plan to attend one or both of our belated 50ish year reunion events Aug. 13-14. (And five more who may be able to). It would be helpful for the organizers to know how many people to expect each day, including spouses/guests. While we’ve reached most of the people from our class through direct one-on-one contact (phone, email or mail), there are several for whom this site has been our only method of communication. For those classmates who have heard about our reunion plans primarily through classmates.com please let us know if you plan to attend one or both events and if you expect to bring a guest by leaving a comment below. Here’s a recap of what’s planned: The Saturday gathering is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the American Legion Post, 32 Woodbridge Ave., Chatham. There's no cost or refreshments, but you're welcome to bring your own beverage and snacks. This is part of a gathering of folks that includes the Class of '72, a two-class 50th reunion celebration. We’re asking folks from our class to be there 1-3 p.m. so we can get together as a class, but we can continue socializing after that since the party continues until 5 p.m. The annual multi-class Chatham Central Alumni Party is scheduled to start at noon Sun. Aug. 14 at the Polish-American Citizens Club (off Everett Road, Exit 5 of I-90), 110 Commerce Ave., Albany. This is held jointly with a Vietnam Veterans event. The cost: $25 per person. We’ll have Class of ‘71 attendees break away and meet separately, perhaps in a different area inside or, weather-permitting, outdoors, after having a chance to mingle with others. The cost includes refreshments such as hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, macaroni and potato salad, beer and wine. We’re asking folks from our class to meet from noon-3 p.m. for who need to return home. The party continues until 5 p.m. Tickets may be available at the door, but it would be best to purchase in advance since there's a limited number.
