Columbia High School Class of 1970 Reunion Saturday June 29 11:00 AM - Monmouth Park Racetrack By now you have all heard the stories of the “wild and crazy” things that have happened during the past 14 years at the CHS Class of 1970 reunions. Don’t you think it is time that you come and see for yourself what all the talk has been about? We have “relived” those stories about people, events, games, classes, and anything else we can think about! However, our memories seem to have changed stories over the years. We also take time to remember our classmates who are gone but not forgotten. Well, here we go again, our 14th year at Monmouth Park race track. CHS class of 70 turns 72. Same spot, when entering the track, park on the left side of the track, close to the blue grotto restaurant, enter the gate there, make a right, walk toward the main building, we are the tables on the right. You can bring food, not required, beer and wine too. It is also the Wine and Win event that day with many vineyards there offering samples and special pricing on their wines. For $15 dollars you can sample wine for the entire day and get a commemorative glass to add to your collection. This year marks another significant milestone on our life journey. It will be the 60th anniversary of our graduation from our respective grammar schools in Maplewood and South Orange. It still feels like we should be going to school with our rug to take a nap in kindergarten. Oh, maybe that is because NOW we need a nap! Most of us met in our grammar schools and formed bonds that are still strong today! Food is not a problem and it is a quick walk to get to many of the food stands, including Walt’s famous hot dogs! Parking is free but entrance fees increased to $6. You can come by NJ Transit- North Jersey Coast train and get into the track for free. It is a quick walk from the train station. The gates open early and our classmates usually start showing up at 11 AM.
