CRANSTOCK SUMMER WING XX !!! ~ SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23rd ~ NOMAHEGAN PARK Noon ~ DUSK The 20th Annual Cranstock Summer Wing is LESS THAN ONE WEEK AWAY! Nomahegan Park is the location (with Cranford Elks serving as an inclement weather indoor backup location.) Bring your smiles, goodwill, kids, dogs, frisbees and let’s have some fun!!! Here’s a word from Cranstock’s Treasurer and Musical Director, Steve T: Hey everybody - Ready for Cranstock # 20? How far we have come from a backyard wing to a full fledged mini festival with Great Food, Beer & Wine, five or six Live Local bands, Stage, Sound, Lighting, T-Shirts, Posters, Kids games. The fun lasts from 9 AM when set up begins to 10 or 11PM after breakdown and cleanup. With all that, in the last few years, it's gotten more and more expensive. Everything went up in price. We don't often discuss the financials to put on this event. County permit and Alcohol permit, Insurance, and police run $1500. 14 kegs and wine costs us $2000. Stage sound and lighting $2800. The food, plates, cups, utensils, water, etc. is $4000. All said, Cranstock will cost around $10,000 to run this year. We have only $4,500 left in the kitty from last year to pay for this years upfront costs (permits, insurance, police, sound deposit, food, 8 starter kegs) Remember, The bands all play for FREE. Everyone cooking, bartending, setting up, and breaking down, cleaning up volunteers their time. Please keep that in mind when you see the donation box this year - if you can throw in an additional 10 or 20 bucks in the jar, it will help. We know everyone comes from a different financial picture. We are funded solely on donations. Some of us have been filling the financial gap for years. This year its pretty big.
