As you are aware, 2021 is the 55th anniversary of our graduation from WYHS. Some folks have voiced an interest in attending and/or planning a reunion event. Over the past year there have been discussions about this milestone year and how we might plan an event. With all the restrictions related to Covid we were uncertain when or if life would return to “normal” in time to celebrate or not. Thankfully, it seems we might be able to gather without much risk. So, in lieu of a multi-day schedule of events, I have suggested a casual lunch gathering – no deposits, no reservations, no “dressing-up”. Show up at the scheduled time, show up late, in flip flops/sandals, jeans, shorts or whatever you choose, and leave when you want. You select what you want to eat and drink. No pressure, no expectations, just a casual reconnection and sharing memories of the good ol’ days and possibly make a few new memories. This is an opportunity to re-connect with long-time friends or form new friendships. We are all different people today than we were 55 years ago and each will have interests and experiences to share. I hope, like me, you have discovered a desire within to reconnect and reminisce with people who have similar memories –the neighborhoods, restaurants, people, events, etc. If you do, please plan on attending. I would like to have a head count by Monday, August 23 to make certain we have a space large enough to accommodate the group. p.s. – Yearbooks (unsigned) will be available for viewing for the years 1959 to 1969. Feel free to bring any memorabilia you might have (pictures from elementary, Jr. high and high school), copies of the Ramble, proms, parties, community events, p.s.s. – Adult guests welcome - spouses, significant others, friends.
