Guestbook and profile visits

Click the links below—or scroll down—to see answers to commonly asked questions about the guestbook feature and profile visits.

What is a guestbook and where can I find mine?

Whenever Classmates members visit your profile, they can let you know they were thinking of you by leaving their names. You can find those names in your guestbook.

Similarly, any time you visit another member's profile you can leave your name to let them know you stopped by.

To see the names in your guestbook:

  1. Go to your Classmates home page.
  2. Under Your Activity, click Guestbook names.

If you're a Gold member, you'll be able to see the names. If you're a free member, you can see how many people visited your profile, but you'll need to upgrade to Gold to see which visitors left their names in your guestbook.

You can also access your guestbook from your profile home page—just click Profile at the top of any Classmates page.

What's the difference between profile visits and guestbook names?

Each time someone checks out your profile—whether they leave their name or not—your total number of Profile visits increases. Visiting your own profile does not affect this number.

Guestbook names lists the people who chose to leave their names when they visit. If visitors opt not to leave their names, they will not show up in your guestbook.

How do I sign someone else's guestbook?

Signing a guestbook is easy. If your profile visit setting is normal, every time you visit a profile, your name will be left. If your setting is quiet, your name will not be left automatically, but you can still leave your name by clicking Sign [your friend's] guestbook near the top of the page.

After you've left your name, it will appear on your friend's guestbook with the date you visited. Only Gold members can see the names on their guestbook lists.

Can I change my profile visit setting?

You can change your profile visit setting any time you're on another member's profile. At the top of the page, where you're given the option to sign their guestbook, just click Change setting.

You can also change your setting using the steps below:

  1. At the top or bottom of any Classmates page, click Account and sign in.
  2. Under Profile Visit Settings, click View or Change Profile Visit Settings.
  3. Select the option you prefer, then click UPDATE.

When your profile visit setting is normal, your name will be left every time you visit someone else's profile. If you visit a profile and don't want to leave your name, you'll always have that option, too—just click Remove visit.

If your profile visit setting is quiet, your profile visits will be anonymous. If you decide to let a friend know you stopped by, you can do so manually by clicking Sign [your friend's] guestbook at the top of their profile.

Can I remove my name from someone's guestbook?

You'll have 1 hour from the time you left your name on a profile to remove it. Simply return to that profile and click Remove visit at the top of the page.

If you can't remember which profiles you've visited, go to any other member's profile. At the top of the page, where you're given the option to leave your name, click Change setting—you'll be able to see (and remove) all of your visits from the last hour.

How do I remove names from my guestbook?

If you're a Gold member, you can remove names from your guestbook. To do so:

  1. Go to your Classmates home page.
  2. Under Your Activity, click Guestbook names.
  3. Click remove next to the name you wish to remove.

You can also access your guestbook from your profile home page—just click Profile at the top of any Classmates page.

Why did a name disappear from my guestbook?

People may choose to remove themselves from Classmates.com at any time, in which case they will no longer appear in your guestbook. Members may also choose to remove their names within an hour of signing a guestbook.
