Summary of Changes

Update Effective: January 6, 2020

We have revised our Privacy Policy effective as of January 6, 2020 for all users.

This summary is intended to help you understand the changes we have made to our Privacy Policy. However, we recommend that you take the time to read this important document in full by clicking on the link above.

Included below is a section-by-section summary of the revisions to the Privacy Policy (if a section is not listed, it means that no changes were made to it). We are providing this summary to you as a courtesy, and nothing that it contains shall be deemed to modify any provisions in the Privacy Policy.

  • The introduction has been updated to reflect the fact that, due to changes having to be made to the Privacy Policy as required by the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (the “CCPA”), the Privacy Policy now applies not just to information that we collect from you as a user, but also to information that we collect about you from various third-party sources.
  • A minor grammatical change was made to Section 1.a.
  • Section 3.a has been revised to provide clarity on how you can update or remove your personal information from all of websites that we own and operate, not just Classmates.
  • Section 3.b contains minor revisions to make clear that it only relates to the opt-out associated with the public records that appear on our people search websites and to comply with the CCPA.
  • A new Section 8 has been added that provides details on how California residents can exercise the various rights granted to them under the CCPA.
  • Minor language changes were made to Section 9.
