Leonard Albert “Lenny” Kravitz (born May 26, 1964) is a singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. He attended Beverly Hills High School, in Beverly Hills, CA. Kravitz had a love for music even as a small child and was exposed to a wide range of genres growing up, including jazz, soul, rock, and classical. After recording his 1989 debut album (Let Love Rule), for which he played virtually all the instruments, his career gradually started to take off. Kravitz became one of rock’s big names in the 1990s, releasing four more records in that decade and collaborating with a number of other recording artists as well. His 2000 Greatest Hits album became one of the most successful albums of the decade. In 2002, he set a new record for most Grammy wins for Best Rock Vocal Performance, having topped that category four years in a row. Kravitz has expanded his repertoire to include acting, appearing first in 2009’s Precious. Most recently, he can be seen in the 2016 series Star.
