Jennifer Beals (born December 19, 1963) is an actress. She graduated from Francis W. Parker School, in Chicago, IL, in 1982, where she played varsity field hockey. Beals is probably best known for her starring role in the 1983 blockbuster film Flashdance, which was shot while she was a student at Yale. She also co-starred in the series The L Word. Beals has acted in numerous other roles for both the big and the small screens. Other films include Devil in a Blue Dress and The Grudge 2. Other series include 2000 Malibu Road and Lie to Me.
