Winona Ryder, born Winona Laura Horowitz (October 29, 1971), is an actress. She graduated from Petaluma High School, in Petaluma, CA, in 1989 with a 4.0 GPA. She chose her stage name before the release of her first film, Lucas, in 1986 (as one of her father’s Mitch Ryder albums played in the background). Ryder became a household name when she co-starred in Beetlejuice in 1988 and went on to bring her talent to a number of diverse roles. Films have included HeathersMermaidsEdward ScissorhandsThe Age of InnocenceReality Bites, and Girl, Interrupted. More recently, Ryder has co-starred in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things.
