Nathan Lane (born Joseph Lane; February 3, 1956) is an actor. He graduated with the 1974 class of St. Peter’s Preparatory School in Jersey City, New Jersey. In high school, Lane was a class officer, and was in the Theater Club, and participated in his school’s production of Arsenic and Old Lace. He was also a member of the Society of Outstanding American High School Students and was voted by his freshman class as Man of the Year. Lane’s career began as a Broadway actor in New York with his debut performance in Present Laughter being followed by many other recognized performances in such plays as Guys and Dolls, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, and The Producers. Lane has also done voice over work providing the voice for the character Timon in The Lion King movie and its sequels.
