Ernest “Chubby Checker” Evans (born October 3, 1941) is an American singer and songwriter. He graduated with the class of 1960 from South Philadelphia High School in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania. Prior to graduating high school, he had already released his first album. In high school, his class members would rock out to his performances, including the song “The Class”, and would enjoy his imitation of “Fats Domino”.
